"In fact, there is almost nothing left that we could impose sanctions on. We have struck at their largest oil companies — that is exactly what everyone demanded," the Secretary of State explained.

Instead of imposing new restrictions, the U.S. will focus on ensuring compliance with existing sanctions, particularly in combating the so-called 'shadow fleet' that Moscow uses to circumvent restrictions in the oil sector, Rubio noted.

According to him, this will be the main direction for the further work of the sanctions coalition, and European partners must play a more active role as "a significant portion of the vessels are moving closer to their territories."

Speaking about the prospects for achieving peace, Rubio pointed out: "Moscow has made it clear what it wants — it wants the rest of the Donetsk region, and such demands are unacceptable to the Ukrainian side."
