The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has appealed to 'brotherly' Turkey following the plane crash in Georgia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has appealed to 'brotherly Turkey' following the crash of a C-130 military transport aircraft in Georgia. The agency announced this on its page on the social network X.

"The news of the crash of the C-130 military transport aircraft, which was heading from Azerbaijan to brotherly Turkey and crashed on the territory of Georgia, has deeply shocked us. In connection with this heavy loss, we express our deep condolences to the brotherly Turkish people and the Armed Forces of Turkey," the statement said.

The day before, the Georgian television channel 'Imedi' reported that a helicopter, presumably of the Turkish Armed Forces, crashed on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. The video showed an object falling from a height and later exploding upon impact with the ground.

Later, it was clarified in Turkey that the C-130 aircraft had crashed. It is presumed that there were ten military personnel on board. The aircraft was transporting soldiers participating in a military parade in Baku in honor of the anniversary of the end of the 44-day war in 2020.
