Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with the British publication The Guardian that Russian President Vladimir Putin has found himself in a stalemate and may attack one of the European Union countries even before the end of the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, LETA reports citing BBC.
"From the perspective of real successes, Putin has found himself in a dead end. Rather, it is a stalemate. That is why these failures may push him to seek other territories," said the president.
"My opinion is this: he can do it. We must forget about the general European skepticism regarding the idea that Putin first wants to occupy Ukraine and then move further. He can do both at the same time," emphasized Zelensky.
The recent series of incidents, where Russian drones and fighters violated the borders of Eastern NATO member countries - Poland, Romania, and Estonia, Zelensky linked to the fact that Russia has not been able to achieve significant progress on the Ukrainian front.
Russia is already waging a "hybrid war against Europe" and testing where NATO's "red lines" are, noted the President of Ukraine.
