Turkey announced on Friday that it has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other members of his government on charges of genocide, LETA reports citing AFP.
Among the 37 suspects for whom arrest warrants have been issued are Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, according to a statement from the Istanbul prosecutor's office. The full list of these officials has not been published.
Turkey has accused these Israeli officials of "genocide and crimes against humanity" that Israel allegedly "systematically committed" in the Gaza Strip.
The prosecutor's statement also mentions the Turkey-Palestine Friendship Hospital, built by Turkey in Gaza and bombed by Israel in March.
Last year, Turkey joined a case initiated by South Africa at the International Criminal Court (ICC), in which Israel is accused of genocide.
