Zelensky: money for American Tomahawks can be taken from frozen Russian assets.
Ukraine could take the money for the purchase of long-range Tomahawk missiles from frozen Russian assets. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with the Vice President of the European Commission, Kaia Kallas. "It is too early to talk about the number and capabilities of [the missiles]. Although, to be honest, I shared with the president [of the U.S., Donald Trump]. Some things like that are probably not for a phone conversation," the Ukrainian leader said. According to him, Kyiv can purchase missiles from Washington through NATO programs, via a large deal between Ukraine and the U.S., and hypothetically, at the expense of frozen Russian assets. He noted that many Western politicians support the latter option, but a political decision is necessary for its implementation. Earlier, Zelensky reported that he discussed with Trump the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv to pressure Russia. According to him, Moscow will be unhappy with the consequences of such a decision.
