The reason for the head-on collision of trains, in which dozens were injured, has been named

The initial analysis of the circumstances of the major railway accident in eastern Slovakia indicates that the trains may have ended up on the same track due to human error.

According to Aktuality, this was stated by Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj-Šeštok. The minister noted that preliminary information indicates the human factor as the cause of the accident.

"I do not want to speculate about the causes at this stage, but according to preliminary information, it is not a system error, but a human factor. It seems that one of the train drivers made a mistake and did not yield the right of way. But this is only a preliminary version," said Šutaj-Šeštok.

Let us remind you that the accident occurred in the eastern part of the country on the morning of October 13. A representative of the Slovak Railways, Ján Baček, clarified that two express trains R913 and R914 GEMERAN collided at a point where the railway transitions to a single-track section.

According to the latest updated data, 69 people were injured, seven of whom sustained serious injuries.
