Simply having air defense and missile defense systems is not enough for Russia to repel attacks from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was stated on the social network Facebook by retired Colonel Anatoly Dokuchaev.
The expert noted that "although the armed forces of Russia do have a unique range of air defense and missile defense systems, this is probably not enough," the author wrote.
The military official emphasized that "information from orbit is a key element in targeting high-precision weapon systems." The author claims that currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are receiving data from more than 500 European and American spacecraft, not counting the use of Starlink satellites and terminals by the Ukrainian side.
The author reminded that the Soviet Union actively developed space reconnaissance assets, and in terms of satellite launches, the USSR outpaced the USA. However, this year, Russia has conducted only 13 space launches. "In contrast, the United States has conducted 131 launches this year, and China has conducted 59. This is the space arithmetic. Draw your conclusions," the retired colonel summarized.
It is worth noting that the United States is considering the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine with a range of up to 2500 kilometers. Theoretically, within this range, there could be 1655 known military facilities in Russia, including 67 air bases.
