Kitchen towels quickly become greasy and absorb odors, making it difficult to wash them with regular means. To restore freshness and softness, homemade remedies and the right washing technique are needed.
First, the towels are soaked in hot water with baking soda: two tablespoons per liter. The water temperature should be around 60 degrees. The soda breaks down fats and helps deal with stains. After 30 minutes, half a cup of table vinegar is added to the solution. The resulting foaming enhances the cleaning effect, breaks down stubborn grease deposits, and eliminates bacteria. The towels are kept in the mixture for another 15 minutes.
Then, without wringing them out, the items are transferred to the washing machine. They are washed with a regular amount of powder at a temperature of 60 degrees. This mode allows for the removal of grease without damaging the fabric. Additionally, a rinse cycle is run to wash out any remaining detergent. For fabric softening, a tablespoon of vinegar is used in the rinse aid compartment instead of conditioner. Vinegar neutralizes detergent residues, adds softness, and eliminates odors.
