Actor Alexey Makarov revealed details of his wedding for the first time, which he had long kept to himself. It turned out that he married Polina Zagoskina four years ago.
The 54-year-old artist appeared at one of the premieres in Moscow with his wife, thus confirming his family status. His chosen one is 23 years younger and has no relation to the film industry. Polina graduated from a pedagogical university and worked as a flight attendant.
It was her profession that brought the future spouses together. According to Makarov, he noticed the girl while boarding the plane. Their acquaintance happened right during the flight.
"We met in the sky — at an altitude of 10,000 meters. I am absolutely serious. A beautiful woman, and then it turned out she is a wonderful person as well," the actor shared.
Polina herself initially did not recognize the famous passenger and mistook him for a businessman. Only later did her colleagues hint at who was in front of her, and she decided to learn more about him.
After a brief romance, the couple decided to formalize their relationship. However, the wedding turned out to be as modest as possible — the pandemic got in the way.
"There was no intrigue: the country was facing the coronavirus. We just registered at the MFC, without a lavish celebration and with a minimal number of guests," Makarov said.
The actor noted that the couple plans to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary on a larger scale. For now, they prefer a quiet lifestyle: spending time together, riding bicycles, and walking in parks.
For Makarov, this marriage is his fourth. He was previously married to journalist Maria Speranskaya and actresses Maria Mironova and Victoria Bogatyreva. He has a daughter, Varvara, who is now 15 years old.
