One of the founders of Russian rock, Boris Grebenshchikov, has obtained British citizenship. This is evidenced by updated data in the British company register, where changes were made to his personal information.
According to registration documents, British citizenship was also granted to his wife Irina. The corresponding changes were recorded on March 16, 2026, in the data of the company BG PLUS LLP, established by the couple in late 2022. Previously, they were listed as citizens of Russia.
The musician's connection to the UK has a long history. Grebenshchikov has repeatedly emphasized his special relationship with the country and has periodically lived in London since the late 1980s, combining this with his creative activities. Over the years, he has implemented projects related to the British music scene, including working on the album Radio London.
Several years ago, the artist permanently moved to the British capital. In interviews, he noted that it is there that he finds more comfortable conditions for creativity and life.
Recently, Grebenshchikov has reduced his concert activity: some planned performances in various countries were canceled due to health issues.
