Over time, a white shower curtain in the bathroom acquires a yellowish tint, especially at the bottom where water lingers on the fabric. Even regular removal of soap scum does not help get rid of the buildup.
To effectively clean the curtain, it is recommended to soak it beforehand. For this, add a tablespoon of oxygen bleach to a basin, pour in boiling water, and stir until fully dissolved. Then, submerge the lower part of the item in the solution and leave it until the water cools, after which wash the curtain in the washing machine.
If the curtain is colored, add a tablespoon of sunflower oil to the solution. This will protect the shades from the aggressive effects of the bleach. After washing, the yellow stains disappear, and you only need to hang the curtain, carefully smoothing it out to dry without creases.
