Healthy and tasty balls are the perfect snack for those who value healthy eating. The delicate texture, rich sweet-tart flavor of prunes, and a light nutty note from the flax seeds create a harmonious combination.
Ingredients:
-
Prunes (pitted) — 300 g
-
Hazelnuts (peeled) — 100 g
-
Flax seeds (or flaxseed meal) — 50 g
-
Coconut flakes — 50 g
-
Macadamia nuts — 12-14 pcs
-
Banana (ripe) — 50 g
Preparation:
-
Soak the prunes in room temperature water before preparation. Rinse under running water.
-
Grind the flax seeds in a coffee grinder. You can use ready-made flaxseed meal instead of seeds.
-
Place the pitted prunes, peeled hazelnuts, ground flax seeds, and banana in a blender bowl.
-
Blend the ingredients until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water and blend again.
-
Let the blended mixture sit for about 20 minutes. During this time, peel the macadamia nuts. This can be done very quickly and easily with a special tool.
-
Roll the mixture into balls, placing a nut inside each one.
-
Coat with coconut flakes.
-
Place the balls in the refrigerator to set overnight.
The balls have a pleasant tartness from the prunes, not overly sweet. The flax seeds add density to the texture and a light nutty flavor.
