The combination of ground chicken, pineapples, and orange juice gives the cutlets a distinct sweet and sour flavor, while the cheesy crust makes the dish particularly appetizing.
Ingredients:
- Ground chicken — 500 g
- Onion — 2 pcs.
- Salt, black pepper — to taste
- Dried ginger — ¼ tsp.
- Dried garlic — 1 tsp.
- Paprika — ½ tsp.
- Hot pepper — ¼ tsp.
- Butter — 40 g
- Orange juice (from ¼ orange) — 50–60 ml
- Canned pineapples (rings) — 5–6 pcs.
- Grated Gouda cheese — 80 g
Preparation:
- Finely chop the onion and sauté in 20 g of butter until translucent (3–4 minutes over medium heat).
- In a bowl, combine the ground chicken with the sautéed onion, salt, pepper, ginger, garlic, paprika, and hot pepper. Pour in the orange juice and mix thoroughly.
- Pat the pineapples dry, cut them into cubes (1–2 rings can be left for garnish), and add them to the mixture.
- Shape into cutlets, meatballs, or patties (for 4–6 servings). Fry in the remaining butter for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Place the prepared items in a baking dish and sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Serve with rice or a vegetable side dish — it will be a bright and aromatic dinner with a sweet and sour note.
