On a cold winter day, it is especially pleasant to drink a cup of hot aromatic beverage. If it is herbal tea, it not only warms but also benefits health. Here are seven herbs worth using in tea.
Fennel
Improves digestive system function and is good for the heart. Pour a glass of boiling water over 10 g of seeds, keep it in a water bath for 10 minutes, strain, and add boiled water to the original volume. Take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day.
Chamomile
Soothes the stomach and helps regulate sleep. If discomfort in the stomach or nausea occurs, drink a cup of chamomile tea. Pour 2–3 teaspoons of dried flowers with a glass of boiling water and steep for 10–20 minutes. Tea in the evening helps to relax and sleep soundly.
Linden
Reduces fever and speeds up recovery. Pour a glass of boiling water over 3 tablespoons of dried crushed flowers in a porcelain teapot, steep for 8–10 minutes. Drink warm with honey 3 times a day. Linden tea is beneficial during the season of ARVI and for prevention.
Lavender
Relieves headaches. Brew tea from lavender leaves or add a few leaves to black tea. Drink throughout the day for relief.
Ginger
Reduces feelings of hunger and helps control weight. Peel a small piece of root and grate it finely. Mix 2 tablespoons of root with 60 ml of lemon juice, add honey, and pour with boiling water. Steep for an hour and drink as tea throughout the day.
Nettle
Fights vitamin deficiency and normalizes metabolism. Pour a glass of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of dried nettle, steep for 10–15 minutes, and strain. If desired, add sugar, lemon, or honey.
Thyme
Tones and warms. In a teapot, add 1 teaspoon each of black tea and thyme, pour with a glass of boiling water. Let it steep, add cinnamon, lemon, honey, or ginger to taste.
Remember: any herbal tea is a powerful remedy. Consult a doctor before regular use.
