Deputies and ministers discussed foreign policy all day.
48 speakers and nearly 10 hours of debates (including breaks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) is the 'mathematical' result of today's annual debates in the Saeima on foreign policy.
It is worth noting that the main speaker - the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, took the podium three times: first with the main report, then with responses, and finally to summarize the debates.
As the debates clearly dragged on, the deputies did not have time to address the other items on the agenda of the plenary session, including two opposition proposals - to express no confidence in Evika Siliņa and to support awarding Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize.
