The International Documentary Film Festival “Artdocfest/Riga” Starts in February

The International Documentary Film Festival “Artdocfest/Riga” will take place from February 28 to March 8 next year, announced the festival producer Vaiva Bauze.

The opening of “Artdocfest/Riga” will take place on February 28 at 18:00 with the screening of Vitaly Mansky's latest film “Time to Goal,” which had its world premiere this year at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The festival will be held in the Great Hall and the Straume Hall of the Splendid Palace cinema, with two competitive programs planned — “Baltic Focus” and “Artdocfest Open.”

In addition, three thematic programs of non-competitive films will be organized. Screenings will take place at the Zuzeum art center, where a film program dedicated to art, “ArtDoc&ProAr,” will be shown. At the same time, films addressing themes of war and violence will be screened at the community center “Power-Up Space” in “Media Hub Riga.”

The festival continues to accept submissions for documentary films, and Latvian documentary filmmakers are also invited to present films that will premiere in Latvia as part of the festival. Applications must be submitted by December 15 of this year.
