On the eve of Christmas, on December 6 at 19:00, the most magical musical event will take place at the Riga Dome Cathedral – the “Christmas Prelude” of the world opera diva Inessa Galante. For the thirteenth consecutive year on this day, outstanding artists will take the stage to gift listeners the atmosphere of the kindest holiday of the year. This concert has become one of the brightest pre-New Year traditions of Latvia and a hallmark of Riga.
The audience of the “Christmas Prelude” will refuse in the atmosphere of the majestic decor of the Dome Cathedral, under the arches of which masterpieces of classical music will sound, filling hearts and souls with a bright Christmas spirit.
Listeners can expect a meeting with the bright countertenor and performer of baroque music Sergey Yegers, the outstanding composer and organist Aivars Kaleiss, the brilliant soloist of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet - soprano Inna Klochkova, the poignant tenor and soloist of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet Artem Safronov, and of course, the opera diva and decoration of the stage Inessa Galante. Accompanying the performers at the piano will be the talented pianist, winner of numerous music competitions Alexander Kaleiss.
Following one of the main goals of the Inessa Galante Foundation – to give a start in life to young talents, - the concert will also feature bright young rising stars, winners of the “Inessa Galante Talents” competition. The unique touching atmosphere of the “Christmas Prelude” is always created by the performance of the boys' choir of the Riga First Music School named after Jāzeps Mediņš under the direction of Roman Vanags.

On this festive evening, the interior of the Dome Cathedral will be magically transformed by dynamic light installations, harmoniously integrated into the musical context.
