Even multi-million dollar fees, an Oscar, and dozens of iconic roles do not eliminate professional fears. Hollywood actor Matt Damon admitted that he still fears losing his relevance and one day finding himself outside the film industry.

55-year-old Matt Damon candidly spoke about his worries regarding his career and admitted that he finds Hollywood to be an extremely unpredictable and harsh world, as he shared in an interview with GQ.

In the interview with GQ, the actor was asked why he sometimes finds it difficult to think about the future of his four children. In response, Damon confessed that he is still troubled by the instability of the profession.

"It’s related to a career where you’re always trying to figure out what’s ahead of you, because it’s such an uncertain and pretty ruthless business," he noted.

According to the actor, even the most successful stars cannot be sure of what tomorrow holds.

"I’m afraid that the phone will one day stop ringing. There’s this list that people talk about, and you never know what might happen," Damon admitted, hinting at the unspoken "blacklists" of Hollywood.

The actor also shared that he tries to spend as much time as possible with his family and enjoy the moment, but thoughts about his career and future don’t always allow him to relax.

"I think about it a lot, especially now that my kids are getting older. I really try to be here and now. And it’s hard for me to do that," he confessed.

Matt Damon is among the most well-known actors in modern Hollywood. Throughout his career, he has starred in films such as "Saving Private Ryan," "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "The Martian," "Ford v Ferrari," and "Oppenheimer."

In 1998, Damon, along with Ben Affleck, won an Oscar for the screenplay of the film "Good Will Hunting." Recently, the actor completed work on Christopher Nolan’s new film "Oppenheimer."

Since 2005, Matt Damon has been married to Luciana Barroso. The couple is raising three daughters together — Isabella, Gia, and Stella. Additionally, the actor considers Alexia, his wife’s child from her first marriage, as his daughter.
