Apple has launched trial production of a foldable iPhone in China.
Apple's partners have begun trial production of a foldable iPhone. This was announced by a well-known insider under the nickname Instant Digital on his Weibo blog.
According to the specialist, the new Apple smartphone is being produced by Foxconn — Apple's main partner. The expert believes that the transition to pilot production means that the American IT giant is steadily moving towards mass production of the iPhone Fold.
Journalists at 9to5Mac, who evaluated Instant Digital's message, stated that they find the insider information very optimistic for Apple. They noted that since the company has started producing a prototype, it is almost certain that its release will take place in the fall.
"The transition to pilot production at the Foxconn factory indicates that Apple’s plans are currently on schedule," the specialists emphasized.
At the end of March, Bloomberg sources reported that Apple might delay the release of its first foldable smartphone. According to them, the device is expected to be announced in the fall, but it may reach the first customers as early as the beginning of 2027.
