Bloomberg: paid Siri features will appear in iOS 27, downloadable through the App Store.
Apple will not impose artificial intelligence (AI) features on users, but will add paid options to Siri. This was reported by Bloomberg.
Authoritative insider Mark Gurman stated in a column for the publication that Apple has acknowledged its weakness in the AI market and has revised its policy. According to him, the company will implement a sufficient number of new features in the iPhone to keep gadget owners in its ecosystem, but will give greater freedom to third-party developers.
Thus, Apple plans to introduce a new voice assistant Siri in iOS 27. Some of the assistant's features will be paid — primarily, advanced chatbots. Users will be able to install them through the App Store. Gurman stated that the paid options and chatbots will be created by third-party developers, and Apple will earn a 30 percent commission on sales.
At the same time, according to Mark Gurman, the company understands that few users will want to pay for Siri. In this regard, Apple will not forcibly implement advanced options. "This approach allows leveraging the advantages of Apple hardware, makes its products more customizable, and maintains the company's control over its ecosystem," the specialist concluded.
At the end of March, Apple announced the date of the WWDC 2026 conference — June 8. Typically, at summer events, the company announces a new version of iOS.
