After Israeli strikes on Iran's oil facilities, a technological disaster has struck the country.
CNN reports this, publishing photographs of black clouds covering the sky over Tehran and rainfall of soot. On Sunday morning, black rain was already falling.
"At night, an explosion lit up the sky; it was something unlike anything I have ever seen before. It looked like the end of the world or like hell as I imagine it," one resident of Tehran told the publication.
Iranians are posting videos from the streets of Tehran, where fuel ignited by Israeli strikes is burning in the sewers and drainage channels.
Residents of Tehran say the city feels apocalyptic.
It is worth noting that before the war, nearly 9 million people lived in Tehran. Its area is two and a half times larger than that of Riga.
