Apple introduced the MacBook Neo based on the iPhone processor for $599.
Apple Corporation has announced the cheapest laptop in its MacBook lineup, the MacBook Neo, priced at $600. Information about the device appeared on the company's website.
The device features an aluminum body and is available in four colors — silver, pink, yellow, and blue. Apple created the MacBook Neo based on the A18 Pro processor, which powers the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. The device has 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal storage.
The computer comes with two USB-C ports, each of which can be used for charging. There is no MagSafe magnetic charging, like on the MacBook Air and Pro, on the Neo. The laptop has a 13-inch screen based on IPS technology. The maximum brightness of the display is 500 nits.
Apple promises that the portable computer will last up to 16 hours on a single charge. The device includes a 20-watt power adapter. In addition to the USB-C ports, the Neo has a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. The laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6. It also features a webcam that can record video at a resolution of 1080 pixels.
The base version with 256 gigabytes of storage costs $599. The version with 512 gigabytes of storage will cost $699.
On March 3, Apple introduced updated MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models. The models are based on M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max processors.
