Apple announced the MacBook Air and Pro — with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips.

Apple Corporation announced the release of new portable computers MacBook Air and MacBook Pro powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors — the latter being described as the most powerful in history. This was reported on the company's website.

The lineup includes Air models with screen sizes of 13 and 15 inches and Pro devices with screens of 14 and 16 inches. The Air version is available with the M5 chip, while the Pro comes with M5 and M5 Max. The starting price for the updated models is $1,099.

The Air computers have become more expensive — for instance, the version with the M4 chip was priced at a minimum of $999. However, the base version of the device now has 512 gigabytes of built-in memory instead of 256. All computers also feature 16 gigabytes of RAM. The laptops received an additional N1 processor, support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, a thin and durable aluminum case, a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, and a battery rated for 18 hours of autonomous operation.

The MacBook Pro laptops with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors are four times more powerful than the previous generation devices — this was stated by Apple Vice President John Ternus. The chip built into the computer has up to 12 high-performance cores and up to 6 "super cores." Apple calls the new MacBook Pro the most powerful laptops in the brand's history.

The price of the MacBook Air with M5 starts at $1,099, while the MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro processor costs a minimum of $2,199, and the M5 Max — $3,599.

On March 3, Apple introduced the iPhone 17e — featuring an OLED screen, A19 processor, 48-megapixel camera, a minimum of 256 gigabytes of memory, and MagSafe. The company also announced the iPad Air tablet.
