Windows operating system users have been advised to promptly disable the data collection feature in Windows.
A new feature in Windows 11 related to artificial intelligence (AI) secretly collects detailed user data. This is reported by BGR.
The media authors discovered a feature of the Copilot service in the new version of the operating system (OS), which allows the chatbot to gather information on how customers use certain Windows services. Journalists stated that the neural network collects opaque data, so it is best to disable the new feature.
As an example, they cited a situation where Copilot would analyze visited websites and cookies from the web browser and use the information to improve the AI service's performance. Experts noted that this feature is enabled by default and advised to turn it off immediately.
To disable the hidden setting, you need to go to the Copilot website in your browser. Then, you must log into your Microsoft account, go to settings, and deactivate the "Microsoft Usage Data" option. However, the authors warned that disabling this option may impair Copilot's functionality.
