Elon Musk promised to launch Tesla robot sales at the end of 2027.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk promised at the World Economic Forum in Davos that his company will start selling Optimus robots in 2027. His words are quoted by Engadget.

Musk stated that his firm will begin sales of humanoid robots at the end of 2027. However, the billionaire did not disclose the cost of the humanoids but emphasized that his user will receive a very advanced assistant. "Basically, you can ask it to do anything you want," noted the entrepreneur.

Engadget journalists pointed out that Elon Musk left himself a loophole in case robot production slows down or new problems arise. At the forum, he emphasized that Tesla will launch sales of Optimus when it is completely confident in their high reliability. For this reason, the media authors did not believe that Musk's company would launch the robots for sale in the next two years.

In mid-2024, Elon Musk told investors that the Optimus robots would cost between $10,000 and $20,000, or about 760,000 to 1.5 million rubles.

Earlier, Elon Musk warned that people should be cautious with artificial intelligence (AI). "We don’t want to end up in a James Cameron movie. Well, you know, in 'Terminator.' He has great movies, but we obviously don’t want to find ourselves in a 'Terminator' world," admitted the billionaire.
