Google acknowledged issues with sound adjustment on Android smartphones.
Google Corporation has acknowledged the presence of bugs in the Android operating system (OS) related to sound adjustment. This was noted by Bleeping Computer.
Previously, users complained that the Select to Speak feature stopped working correctly on their devices. With this option, the OS can read aloud interface elements and notifications — a feature popular among people with visual impairments. It turned out that while using Select to Speak, the volume control buttons ceased to function.
Also, due to an unknown error, it became impossible to take photos using the volume control buttons. Bleeping Computer journalists noted that Android users often take pictures on their phones by pressing the physical buttons.
"We have received reports that the volume buttons are not functioning properly on Android devices with the Select to Speak feature enabled," responded Google representative Aadil Sheikh to the complaints. The specialist did not specify the timeline for resolving the issue or the versions of Android affected by the malfunction. According to journalists, Google usually releases bug fixes as part of regular OS updates.
