Wireless charging can damage the iPhone battery due to overheating.
Wireless charging, even from Apple, can lead to the breakdown of an iPhone. This is reported by the publication iPhones.
The editor-in-chief of the media, Nikita Goryainov, shared that since spring 2024 he has been using the iPhone 15 Pro Max, primarily charging it via MagSafe. He admitted that due to wireless charging, the battery of his phone has worn out significantly in less than two years, and described the correct ways to charge smartphones.
The specialist explained that it is best to charge an Apple device with a reduced current. Thus, he started using a 15-watt power adapter. It is also optimal to remove the case from the smartphone, which can lead to the overheating of the gadget. Additionally, one can enable a setting in iOS to limit the device's charge to only 80 percent, a feature supported by some of the latest iPhones.
In conclusion, the journalist advised minimizing the use of wireless charging and MagSafe. "With wireless charging, part of the energy inevitably turns into heat. And heat for lithium-ion batteries is an accelerator of aging," emphasized the author.
