Two Russians and an American Reached the ISS in Three Hours

On November 27, 2025, the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the crewed transport spacecraft Soyuz MS-28 launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome (Kazakhstan), successfully placing the spacecraft into orbit and ultimately helping it reach the ISS.

On board the spacecraft were Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergey Mikaev, as well as NASA astronaut Christopher Williams.

The crew will be part of the 74th long-term expedition to the ISS, which is planned to last 242 days. The rocket launched from the pad at 11:27:57 Latvian time. The docking with the station at the 'Rassvet' module occurred automatically at 15:34.

The approach to the station was conducted using an ultra-fast two-loop scheme, which allowed them to reach their destination in just a few hours. After conducting checks on the tightness of the docking, the crew will proceed to board the station.

After the rocket launch to the ISS, damage was discovered at the launch site, reported the Roscosmos press service.

As explained by the press service, damage may occur after launch, which is why "such inspections are mandatory in global practice." Currently, an assessment of the launch complex's condition is being conducted: "All necessary backup components are available for restoration, and the damage will be addressed in the near future."
