Microsoft has acknowledged the presence of issues in almost all components and features of Windows. This was noted by the publication Neowin.
The media journalists pointed out that Microsoft recorded problems with the operating system (OS) after a large number of user complaints. The company published a material on its website in which the IT giant admitted to the existence of bugs and discussed a temporary fix.
According to information from Microsoft, the issues have affected almost all components and functions of the OS: the Start menu, taskbar, File Explorer, and the Windows settings section. Malfunctions have been recorded in OS version 24H2, which shares the same infrastructure as 25H2. "This means that the problems are also relevant for the newer version 25H2," the publication notes.
Neowin specialists lamented that Microsoft only acknowledged the OS issues in November. Meanwhile, most of the problems arose back in July, after the release of update KB5062553.
Microsoft promised that they would fix all the issues. As a temporary solution to some problems, experienced users were advised to restart the Shell Infrastructure Host service (SIHost.exe) — this will help restore missing Immersive Shell packages.
At the end of November, Microsoft announced a major update for Windows 11 related to artificial intelligence (AI). The company stated that AI agents would be introduced in the OS to handle user tasks in the background.
