A slowdown of a smartphone may indicate surveillance or the presence of a virus.
There are signs that suggest a device is secretly spying on its owner. This was reported by Alexander Timofeev, an associate professor of computer science and IT specialist.
He noted that this is facilitated by permissions to use the microphone and camera, which users grant even to those applications that do not need them. For example, the expert clarified that sometimes banking and gaming applications are included, which function perfectly well without a camera.
Timofeev identified the most likely sign of surveillance or the presence of a virus as the slowdown of any functions, as well as the device as a whole. Frequent freezes without reason can also be a signal. "If the camera light turns on by itself, it is clear that it is working against your will," the expert added.
