Any owner of smart sex toys can easily fall victim to hacking attempts, said cybersecurity specialist Emily Conway.

Conway explained that smart sex toys, whether it's a dildo with built-in artificial intelligence or vibrators controlled via a mobile app, can be compromised. According to her, hackers can easily hack devices that smart sex toys connect to via Bluetooth and gain control over them.
"If such data as personal information, details about sexual partners, or sexual orientation is stolen, it creates ideal conditions for attempts at blackmail and extortion," the specialist warned.
To reduce the risk of such problems, she advised purchasing adult toys only from reputable manufacturers that pay attention to cybersecurity, as well as regularly updating the computer or smartphone to which the intimate gadget is connected.
