On Wednesday, cloudy weather will persist in Latvia, but there will be less precipitation than in previous days. The air will warm up to +20 degrees, and in the second half of the day, the wind will strengthen in places.
After several cool and rainy days, the weather in Latvia will gradually start to improve.
According to meteorologists' forecasts, there will be less precipitation on Wednesday, although brief showers are still expected in many areas of the country. The most prolonged precipitation is forecasted in the northeast of Latvia — in the Alūksne and Balvi regions.
Throughout the day, the sky will remain mostly cloudy, but by evening, starting from the western regions of the country, clearer skies will appear.
The air temperature will rise to +15...+20 degrees, making Wednesday the warmest day in the last few days.
At the same time, the wind will strengthen.
Gusts of the west and northwest wind will reach 9–14 meters per second in most parts of the country. In Vidzeme, gusts of up to 16 meters per second are expected in places during the second half of the day.
For residents, this means that even with relatively comfortable temperatures, there will be a noticeable chill in open spaces, especially near the coast and on elevated areas.
In Riga, significant precipitation is not forecasted.
The capital will also experience mostly cloudy weather with gradual clearing by evening. The air temperature will rise to +18...+19 degrees, and wind gusts will reach 13 meters per second.
According to meteorologists, the weather conditions in Latvia will continue to be determined by the southwestern periphery of the cyclone. That is why there will still be plenty of clouds, although the influence of rain fronts will gradually weaken.
Wednesday will be more comfortable compared to the beginning of the week: there will be less rain, the air will become warmer, and by evening, the sun will appear in many areas. However, the strengthening wind will remind us that the influence of the cyclone is still present.
