In the final match of the World Championship, the Swiss national team lost to the Finnish team.
In the 14th minute, Anton Lundell scored, but his goal was disallowed after a video review. The teams did not score during regulation time, and the game went into overtime. In the 71st minute, the golden goal was scored by 29-year-old Buffalo forward Konsta Helenius.
Thus, Finland became the world champion. This is the first time since 2022.
Earlier, the bronze medals were won by the Norwegian team. In the third-place match, the Scandinavians defeated Canada 3–2 also in overtime.
