Nicolato announced the Latvia national team roster for the Baltic Cup matches

The head coach of the Latvia national football team, Paolo Nicolato, announced on Thursday the 25 players who will participate in the June training camp ahead of the Baltic Cup matches.

According to the Latvian Football Federation, due to health reasons, Kristers Tobers, Janis Ikauņeks, Renars Varslavans, and Roberts Uldrikis will not be able to help the national team this time.

At the same time, Eduards Dashkevics, Maksims Toniševs, Martins Kigurs, and Ilya Korotkov have returned to the squad.

"This gathering is very important for preparing for the Nations League matches in the fall. In September and October, we have a very tight schedule — four matches in eleven days and two flights across the continent, so the preparatory work needs to be done now," Nicolato noted.

The Latvia national team will play a Baltic Cup match on June 6 away against Lithuania, and on June 9 in Riga against Estonia or the Faroe Islands.

The Baltic Cup is considered the oldest active tournament for national football teams in the world. It was first held in 1928.
