Shakira, Madonna, and South Korean group BTS will headline the halftime show of the 2026 World Cup final, which will take place on July 19 in New Jersey, USA.
The show will be organized by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The World Cup will begin on June 11, with 48 teams participating for the first time in the tournament.
The performance will support FIFA's Global Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to increase access to quality education and football for children around the world. "The halftime show of the World Cup final will be a truly special moment, uniting music, football, and a shared desire to improve the lives of children worldwide," FIFA President Gianni Infantino wrote on social media.
The final of the 2026 World Cup will take place on Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The World Cup final is the most-watched sporting event. The 2022 match attracted over 500 million viewers live.
Last week, Shakira announced the official song for the 2026 World Cup, releasing a short snippet of the track Dai Dai. The song features Nigerian artist Burna Boy. It is worth noting that in 2010, Shakira performed the official song for the World Cup in South Africa — Waka Waka.
