Rudolfs Balcers scored two goals.
Another goal against the Swiss was scored by Sandis Vilmanis, but this goal was disallowed – after a review by the officials, an incorrect entry into the zone was determined.
Kristers Gudlevskis saved nearly fifty shots on his goal (given that, on average, there are about thirty shots on goal in World Championships).
However, this was not enough.
