Alyona Ostapenko Suffers a Significant Drop in Rankings

Latvia's number one tennis player Alyona Ostapenko has lost 18 positions in the tennis rankings.

Last week at the tournament in Stuttgart, Ostapenko, as last year's champion, had to defend 500 points, but she was eliminated in the first round and thus could not do so. As a result, our tennis player dropped in the rankings from 22nd to 40th position.

The updated WTA rankings are led by Belarusian athlete Aryna Sabalenka. This marks her 87th week as the world’s number one.

In second place is Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, who won the WTA tournament in Stuttgart and a new Porsche car.
