The owner of the 'Washington' is ready to wait for Ovechkin's decision on continuing his career

The owner of the NHL club 'Washington Capitals' Ted Leonsis stated that he will give Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin as much time as he needs to make a decision about his future.

In his social media, Leonsis emphasized that the club fully supports its captain in planning for the upcoming season.

"As I mentioned last week, we will fully support our captain Alexander Ovechkin and give him as much time as he needs to decide on his playing future," Leonsis wrote.

At the age of 40, Ovechkin remains the highest-scoring player in NHL regular season history. He has scored 929 goals in regular seasons, and with playoff games included, he has 1006. This year, the Russian forward once again became the top scorer for 'Washington', netting 32 goals.

Ovechkin's contract with the team expires this summer. The hockey player previously stated that he would make a final decision regarding his professional career after discussing it with his loved ones.
