The Latvian men's ice hockey team, preparing for the World Championship, will play the first of two friendly matches against Austria today in Riga, reports LETA.
The match at the "Xiaomi Arena" will start at 19:30, and the broadcast will be provided by TV6.
The teams will meet again on Thursday.
After the friendly matches with Austria, the Latvian national team will face the national teams of Denmark and Finland on April 22 and 23 in Lahti. In turn, on May 2 and 3, the team led by Harijs Vitolins will play away against the Slovak national team.
The Latvian national team will conclude its preparatory phase with matches on May 6 and 7, when it will play against the Norwegian national team in front of its fans.
The Ice Hockey World Championship will take place from May 15 to 31 in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland.
