The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) included Lev Yashin in the list of the best footballers who spent their entire career at one club.
Thus, the legendary Soviet goalkeeper, who dedicated 20 years to Moscow's Dynamo, took the ninth place.
The first position was occupied by former captain of Italy's Roma, Francesco Totti. In second place is long-time leader of Milan, Paolo Maldini. Rounding out the top three is Ryan Giggs, who represented Manchester United.
The list also includes Tony Adams (Arsenal), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Jamie Carragher (Liverpool), Matthew Le Tissier (Southampton), Giuseppe Bergomi (Inter), and Iñaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao).
Lev Yashin played 358 matches for Dynamo. He helped the white-blues win five titles of the USSR champion, as well as three national cups. As part of the national team, the goalkeeper became a Euro champion and an Olympic champion. Finally, he is the only goalkeeper in history to have received the Ballon d'Or.
