Last night, Russian forward Nikita Kucherov of Tampa scored a goal in the NHL regular season game against Buffalo (2:4).
This goal allowed the forward to take first place in the scoring race of the strongest league on the planet, surpassing Connor McDavid of Edmonton based on tiebreakers.
Kucherov now has 126 points (43+83) in 71 games played. McDavid of Edmonton also has 126 points (43+83), but in 77 games.
Third in the race is Colorado forward Nathan MacKinnon, who has 122 points (51+71) in 75 games.
