The world's number one from Belarus and four-time Grand Slam champion Arina Sabalenka ranks second in total prize money earned throughout her career.
In the updated WTA rankings, Sabalenka has a total of $49,026,518 in prize money. The gap from the third-ranked Polish player Iga Swiatek (who has $44,901,775) increased to $4,124,743 following Arina's victory at the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami.
At the top, with a significant lead, is the legendary American Serena Williams ($94,816,730). Behind Swiatek is Venus Williams ($43,040,105).
In fifth place is Romania's Simona Halep ($40,236,618), in sixth is another Belarusian Victoria Azarenka ($38,890,473), and in seventh is Russian Maria Sharapova ($38,777,962).
Last season, Sabalenka set a record for the most prize money earned in a single year of competition — $15,008,519.
