Golfer Tiger Woods Arrested for Driving Under the Influence

American golfer Tiger Woods has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence. Woods collided with a trailer truck while overtaking at high speed, causing his car to overturn. This is the second time Woods has been detained for driving under the influence.

This is the second time Woods has faced charges for driving under the influence. In 2017, he was arrested in Florida, after which he pleaded guilty to reckless driving. In February 2021, Woods was also involved in a serious car accident that resulted in severe leg fractures.

Woods is one of the greatest golfers of all time. He has won 15 major tournaments, second only to Jack Nicklaus with 18 victories, and 82 PGA Tour tournaments. Among his major achievements are five wins at the Masters tournaments, three wins at the US Open, three wins at the British Open, and four wins at the PGA Championships. Woods spent a record 683 weeks at number one in the world rankings.

Throughout his professional career, the 50-year-old American has earned approximately $1.9 billion. In 2022, his net worth surpassed $1 billion for the first time, largely due to endorsement deals and business income.

Woods' last official tournament was the Open Championship in 2024. In March 2025, he tore his Achilles tendon, causing him to miss the entire season. On March 24, he played in his indoor golf league TGL. Woods has not yet confirmed whether he will participate in the Masters, which begins on April 9.
