Latvia's top-ranked player Alena Ostapenko has climbed one position in the updated Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings, now holding the 23rd place, reports LETA.
In turn, Daria Semenistaya has climbed five positions and is now in 98th place.
Anastasia Sevastova has dropped two positions (188th place), Adelina Lachinova has fallen five (611th), while Beatrice Zeltiņa has risen by 20 places (620th). Camilla Bartone lost 11 positions (751st), whereas Diana Marcinkevich climbed three positions (823rd). Elsa Tomase (891st), Sabina Rutlauka (924th), Daniela Darta Feldmane (1268th) also improved their rankings, while Margarita Ignatieva remains in 1474th place.
The leader of the rankings remains Aryna Sabalenka, with Elena Rybakina in second place, and Coco Gauff rising to third. Iga Swiatek has dropped to fourth, followed by Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova. Elina Svitolina has moved up from eighth to seventh place, surpassing Jasmine Paolini, while Victoria Mboko and Mira Andrejeva round out the top ten.
In the WTA doubles rankings, Ostapenko also holds the 12th position this week. Semenistaya has climbed two positions (176th), and Sevastova has risen six (501st). A total of 12 more Latvian tennis players are represented in the rankings.
