According to the financial magazine Forbes, the highest prizes for gold at the 2026 Olympics were promised in Singapore (almost $790,000) and Hong Kong ($768,000). However, at the 2026 Games, athletes from these teams went home without medals, just like at all previous Winter Olympics.
Among Europeans, the most generous in prize money for gold at the Games were the Poles ($355,000). The hosts of the 2026 Games, the Italians, are paying $213,000 for first place at the Olympics.
