For the first time in history, a mother and son competed at the same Winter Olympics

Mexican skier Sara Schlepper and her son Lasse Gaxiola participated in the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. Mother and son competed at the same Winter Olympics for the first time!

46-year-old Schlepper finished 26th in the super-G and was also disqualified during the giant slalom competition.

Gaxiola is an Olympic debutant; the 18-year-old athlete placed 53rd in the giant slalom and did not finish in the slalom at the 2026 Games.

The Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo will conclude on February 22.
