Ski jumper Tschofenig was disqualified at the Olympics due to shoe size.
Austrian ski jumper Daniel Tschofenig has been disqualified from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. This was reported by the media, citing AFP.
The reason for the disqualification was the athlete's shoe size, which exceeded the allowable limit by 4 millimeters. The athlete secured a place in the final, after which the organizers measured his shoes.
"Unfortunately, I was naive and did not check the sizes. It is extremely foolish on my part. But rules are rules," said the Austrian.
The final in large hill ski jumping at the Olympics took place on February 14. The competition was won by Slovenian Domen Prevc.
