Embarrassment - Latvia's Olympic vice-champion compared... to a chicken

February 10 brought very joyful news — Latvian athlete Elina Ieva Bota became the vice-champion of the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina in luge competitions, winning Latvia's first medal at these Games.

In addition, Bota brought independent Latvia its first-ever Olympic medal in women's singles luge competitions. In 1980, Vera Zozulya became the champion in Lake Placid, while Ingrid Amanatova won the bronze medal.

Latvia rejoiced at this achievement. Numerous public congratulations were expressed. However, not all congratulations went as planned.

"The loudest applause and cheers for our luger Elina Ieva Bota, who proves what Latvians are capable of! May fortune not abandon her — let’s continue to support our own as we race towards dreams and higher goals," wrote the company Ķekava Latvija on its Facebook page.

The congratulatory message itself was fine, but the image confused many. While congratulating Elina Ieva Bota on her medal, the company posted a picture of a chicken in a sled with a medal around its neck.

Currently, this congratulation has already been removed from the company's feed, but screenshots have been preserved.

"I understand that AI can create 'wonders', funny images, but why use this in further social media posts?" questioned digital marketing, IT, and user experience (UX) consultant Edgars Koronevskis on social media platform X.
