2026 Olympics. Switzerland's women's ice hockey team missed the opening ceremony due to norovirus

The Swiss women's ice hockey team, preparing to compete in the 2026 Games, was urgently isolated and had to miss yesterday's opening ceremony.

The reason for this emergency decision was the norovirus detected in one of the athletes.

No other cases of illness have been identified in the team so far. It is worth noting that yesterday the Swiss team won their opening match of the tournament against the Czech Republic in a shootout (4:3), and today they were supposed to face the representatives of Canada.

Previously, norovirus was detected in the Finnish women's national team, which led to the postponement of their match against the Canadians.
