In the reality show "Celebrities. Unfiltered," actor Andris Bulis hosts outstanding beach volleyball player Tina Graudina, asking the athlete about her everyday life, her ability to stay calm in critical moments, and life beyond the volleyball court.
During the conversation, Graudina also reveals what her relationship with Anastasia Samoilova is really like.
Graudina does not hide that the key to success is not only physical preparation but also the ability to cooperate with her partner Anastasia Samoilova. She notes that the professionalism of both is above personal ambitions or emotions: “I already know that for Anastasia to be happy, sometimes I need to yield; otherwise, she might get upset. Of course, there can be a lot going on inside us, and then the question arises — how do we deal with it and how do we manage a specific situation. We don’t want to lose the game because of some personal stubbornness — that’s not professional at all.”
Although the athletes have spent a significant part of their lives together, their connection is primarily based on work rather than close friendship: “We have known each other for a very long time and grew up together. I wouldn’t say we are best friends because our personalities are quite different, but as people off the court, we spend very little time together — only at work. The difference is that this work takes up 70% of our lives, so we spend a lot of time together.”
Tina finds the greatest satisfaction at home, being close to her loved ones. She emphasizes that the best rest is simply being together in Latvia: “Happiness is being with family in Latvia, including being together with them during all the holidays. It’s quite simple — you don’t need much for happiness.”
